West Virginia to join Big 12 conference The Big 12 Conference Board of Directors has voted unanimously to accept West Virginia University as a full conference member effective July 1, 2012. The Mountaineers will begin competing in the Big 12 beginning with the 2012-13 athletic season. Read more. |

Civil War historians to evaluate Border Wars Jonathan Earle, associate professor of history at the University of Kansas, and his counterpart at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Diane Mutti Burke, have organized a national public conference on Border Wars from Nov. 10 to Nov. 12 at the Kansas City (Mo.)
