Greetings, Jayhawks!
The University officially welcomed its new chancellor, Bernadette
Gray-Little, with an inauguration ceremony and a Semester of Service. In honor of KU's 17th chancellor, alumni, friends, students, faculty and staff have logged more than 107,000 hours of community service. The fanfare continued this week when KU alumna Colleen McCain Nelson received a Pulitzer Prize for writing editorials for the Dallas Morning News.
Experienced leaders were recently tapped to fill key administrative posts. Jeffrey S. Vitter will begin as provost on July 1, and Interim Provost Danny Anderson will become dean of the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences.
Meanwhile, KU is celebrating a $10 million gift from Al and Lila Self that will support students in the School of Engineering, and KU Athletics has renewed its certification with the NCAA.
We hope you’ll enjoy these stories and more in this edition of KU
Connection.
Warmest wishes from the Hill,
KU Alumni Association
