Greetings, Jayhawks!

The Jayhawk network grows stronger each year. This fall, KU greeted the most diverse freshman class in history, with enrollment topping 30,000 for the second year in a row. Included among them are more sons and daughters of KU alumni, which means our annual tribute to KU families has grown, too. This year's edition of Jayhawk Generations is now online.

Also in this edition, you'll read about KU's announcement of an unprecedented $40 million pledge to academic programs from Kansas Athletics. Revenues from a planned expansion of the east side of Memorial Stadium will fund the gift.

Even in challenging economic times, Jayhawks remained loyal to their alma mater, as KU Endowment reported more donors than ever before, with private giving reaching an all-time high last fiscal year.

With Homecoming right around the corner, this is the perfect time to say thank you for everything you do for KU.

Warmest wishes from the Hill,
KU Alumni Association

September 27, 1896: By the end of the autumn of 1896, crimson and blue had become the University’s official athletic colors. Since they happened to be the combined colors of Harvard and Yale, a myth arose that crimson and blue were chosen to assuage the Yale alums among KU’s faculty who had endured a difficult time embracing the hues of their alma mater’s chief rival.
