Greetings, Jayhawks!

On a beautiful spring day, Class of 2009 graduates walked through the Campanile and down the Hill to Memorial Stadium, completing the transition from KU students to proud Jayhawk alumni. In this issue, you'll have the chance to read about the University's 137th Commencement, watch Chancellor Hemenway's speech and browse through images of ecstatic graduates.

As summer approaches, a new class of Jayhawks prepares for life on Mount Oread. If you have a Class of 2013 'Hawk who will soon leave the nest for KU, let us know! We will honor legacy freshmen in an online edition of our Jayhawk Generations tribute. Click here for more information.

    Grads celebrate 137th Commencement
The Class of 2009 made the ceremonial march down the Hill May 17. Chancellor Hemenway delivered his final Commencement speech with an interesting spin, giving graduates one last assignment. Read more.
    KU baseball back in postseason play
The Jayhawks wrapped up the regular season with a 17-7 triumph over No. 11 Kansas State May 17 at Hoglund Ballpark. KU's .893 winning percentage at home is the highest in team history. Read more.
 
    'EcoHawks' successfully create hybrid car
A KU class of mechanical engineering seniors has succeeded in converting an inoperable 1974 Volkswagen Super Beetle into a hybrid that tests at 52 miles per gallon and runs on a biodiesel generator and electric batteries. Read more.
    Hats off to Chancellor Hemenway
The University created an online publication that commemorates the many hats Robert Hemenway wore as KU's 16th chancellor, complete with video tributes, stories and photos. Read more.
