Greetings, Jayhawks!
This month you can show your love for KU and support a good cause. Jayhawk fans are encouraged to attend this season's "Pink Zone" women's basketball game Sunday, Feb. 22. Kansas Athletics will donate $1 for every fan in attendance to support breast cancer treatment and research.
In this issue of KU Connection, you'll also read about some unlikely young KU fans in Detroit, as well as proposed legislation that could help the University
attract more out-of-state students with KU family ties. Since the 1920s, Kansas Alumni magazine each year has honored freshmen who follow their families to the Hill (like the Texas, Colorado and Minnesota families at left, featured last fall). If the proposed legislation passes, a new Jayhawk Generations Tuition Plan could help more far-flung KU families carry on their KU traditions.
Recent announcements about a top-notch football recruiting class, the University's nationally ranked study abroad program and the spirit squads' top-10 finish give us even more reason to celebrate our affection for all things crimson and blue.
Warmest wishes from the Hill,
KU Alumni Association
