A whole new season for Kansas football

Many Kansas Football fans are still blissfully reflecting on the magnificent 12-win season of 2007. Records were broken and trophies were raised, but Head Coach Mark Mangino and the Kansas Jayhawks believe the Orange Bowl was just the beginning.

A revitalized Campanile Hill, the beautiful Anderson Family Football Complex, an innovative and luxurious new club seating section, and 15 returning starters will allow KU football fans to enjoy this football season more than ever before.

Season tickets sales are at an all-time high, and sellout crowds at Memorial Stadium are expected to be the standard rather than the exception.

As we reach the summer months, we want to remind you of a few opportunities that will allow you the chance to join in the tradition of Kansas Football in 2008.

Season tickets are still available: The Jayhawks have proven to be a force on Kivisto Field at Memorial Stadium. After winning nine in a row and 18 of their last 20 games in Memorial, the ’Hawks hope to extend their home-turf dominance with seven home games this season. Season tickets are still available for just $300 and the Perkins Restaurant Family Plan (two adult and two youth general admission tickets) is $400. Both ticket packages can be found at kuathletics.com.

Season ticket holders also have priority in purchasing single game tickets before going on sale to the general public. In addition, season ticket holders will receive first priority in purchasing KU’s allotment of tickets to the Border Showdown against Missouri at Arrowhead Stadium.

Single game tickets available Aug. 1: If you are unable to attend every game this season, football single game tickets will be available Aug. 1. The season begins Aug. 30 with a contest against Florida International. Other non-conference foes visiting Memorial Stadium include Lousiana Tech (Sept. 6) and Sam Houston State (Sept. 20). Big 12 rivals Colorado (Oct. 11), Texas Tech (Oct. 25, Homecoming), Kansas State (Nov. 1) and Texas (Nov. 15) all visit Lawrence in 2008.

Hospitality on the Hill: You can get started on gameday in your very own hospitality tailgate tent. Beautiful Campanile Hill is the perfect spot to gather before kickoff. Tent packages include a private tent, tables and chairs. Packages can be customized for any group and can also include group tickets and catering. Reserving your spot on the Hill is affordable and easy. Call 785.864.7941 or visit kuathletics.com.

Join the new Touchdown Club: Kansas Athletics has introduced a new luxurious club seating section in the South end zone of Kivisto Field. An exclusive hospitality area with complimentary beverages and upscale buffets, 22 flat-screen TVs, luxury chair-back seating and a view that puts you right in the action make these the best seats in the house. For more information about the new Touchdown Club, contact the Williams Educational Fund at 785.864.7133.

Kansas football in Wichita: Kansas Athletics and the KU Alumni Association will host an evening with Mark Mangino July 18. Fans will hear from Coach Mangino at Oscar’s Sports Bar at the Warren Old Town Theater at 5:30 p.m. Attendees must sign up online in advance.

Kansas football in Kansas City: Kansas Athletics and the KU Alumni Association will once again sponsor the Kansas City Kickoff Party in Corinth Square Aug. 22 from 6:30-10 p.m. Located at 83rd and Mission in Prairie Village, Kan., this event will include interactive games for kids, special appearances by the Marching Jayhawks, the KU Spirit Squad, as well as Big Jay and Baby Jay. Head Coach Mark Mangino will be on hand to talk about the upcoming season.
