Greetings, Jayhawks!
This month, pink means more than flowers for your sweetheart. The "Think Pink" initiative is an effort to raise breast cancer awareness on the court and across campuses nationwide. Your Jayhawks are doing their part, and you can help. For each person who attends the KU vs. Nebraska women's basketball game this Sunday at 2 p.m., Kansas Athletics will donate $1 to the Breast Cancer Center at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. The first 5,000 fans will receive a free pink T-shirt, so come support a good cause while you cheer on the Jayhawks.
Fellow KU faithful have shown their support recently, like former Sen. Bob Dole, who has donated $500,000 to the Dole Institute of Politics. Another KU alumnus is moving up the ranks as he takes over the command of the USS Theodore Roosevelt aircraft carrier. Coach Mark Mangino also has reason to rejoice this month, with a new top-notch football recruiting class.
We hope you'll join us in celebrating a 110-year tradition of KU basketball this weekend, as you cheer the KU men on to their 24th victory of the season. Rock Chalk!
Warmest wishes from the Hill,
KU Alumni Association
