Greetings, Jayhawks!
We kick off a new year, a new season and this month's edition by welcoming a new flock of Jayhawks to Mount Oread. In this issue, read about Hawk Week, when students learned about some of KU's oldest traditions and familiarized themselves with campus before classes began last Thursday.
We also kick off football season with our own tradition—the Ultimate Guide to KU Football. Be sure to read about the prospects for this year's team, which returns 16 starters from a year ago. With eight home games, including a highly anticipated match-up against Mizzou Nov. 24 at Arrowhead Stadium, Coach Mangino and the Jayhawks are looking for their fourth bowl-eligible season in five years. The Alumni Association will host tailgates at all home and away games.
To share the KU spirit with family and friends (and start their indoctrination early), consider enrolling your children, grandchildren and other favorite kids in our new Jayhawk Generations membership program. Fledglings will receive age-appropriate Jayhawk gifts and KU information each year.
No matter what your age, we hope you will join us in supporting KU's 142nd year of educating Jayhawks.
Warmest wishes from the Hill,
KU Alumni Association
