Greetings, Jayhawks:

A sea of black caps and gowns filled Campanile Hill on a stunning spring afternoon May 20, as Chancellor Robert Hemenway conferred hard-earned degrees upon the Class of 2007 at KU's 135th Commencement. In this issue, we bring you coverage, including a photo gallery of graduation on Mount Oread and inspiring stories of graduates who have sacrificed much to receive their degrees.

This month, the KU Alumni Association's Jayhawk network stepped up to help a Kansas community by raising more than $29,000 for the citizens of Greensburg following a devastating tornado. Read our story about two who aided in the tragedy and learn how the KU campus has joined in the cause.

This summer, chapters across the country will spread the KU message by welcoming KU freshmen and recruiting high school students to the Hill. The Association will host more than 25 Jayhawk Generations Welcome Picnics for area alumni, incoming KU students and prospective students. Visit our Jayhawk Generations Web page for more information and to find a picnic in your area. Visit our online calendar for a complete listing of Jayhawk events in your area.

With programs like the Greensburg campaign and Jayhawk Generations picnics, the KU Alumni Association is working hard to strengthen KU. You can help by becoming a member today.

Warmest wishes from the Hill,
KU Alumni Association
