Commencement 2006
Approximately 7,000 donned cap and gown for KU's 134th Commencment Sunday on May 21. Taking their turn down the Hill, students processed to Memorial Stadium. This University tradition dates back to 1907, when faculty and graduates walked from old Fraser Hall to the then-new Robinson Gymnasium, where Wescoe Hall now stands. The Commencement procession moved in 1924, when Memorial Stadium opened.

Amy Michelle Holman of Wichita earned a doctorate of medicine.

Carleen Roberts of Jamaica received her master's degree in social welfare.

David Wescoe, c'76, national chairman of the KU Alumni Association, spoke at Commencement. Wescoe is the son of former Chancellor Clarke Wescoe.
