The following is a list of University of Kansas 2006 summer academic and athletic camps:
ACADEMIC
DUKE UNIVERSITY TALENT IDENTIFICATION PROGRAM
Residential academic program for qualifying gifted students in grades 7-10. June 11-July 1 and July 9-29. Contact (919) 668-9100. Learn more.
FRESHMAN SUMMER INSTITUTE
Four-week academic and residential program aimed at newly admitted KU freshmen. Students take five credits of coursework and live in the residence halls. June 4-30 and July 2-28. Kansas residents: $2,100; out-of-state residents: $3,500. Apply online. Applications are due by May 1.
HEALTH CAREERS PATHWAYS PROGRAM
For high school seniors and college undergraduates from disadvantaged or minority backgrounds who are interested in becoming physicians. June 5-July 28. Program pays transportation costs and stipend to students. Applications and instructions. Contact Ashley DeVilbiss, (913) 588-3088.
JAYHAWK DEBATE INSTITUTE

KU SURVIVOR: ENGINEERING OUTBACK
Weeklong, guys-only intensive learning camp for high school sophomores, juniors and seniors. The camp lets students explore the different engineering disciplines through classes led by KU faculty.
