KU alumna named "Woman to Watch" by Wall Street Journal

Linda Cook, e'80, has been named one of The Wall Street Journal's "50 Women to Watch – 2005." Cook, who is executive director of Royal Dutch Shell PLC, was among a blue-ribbon group of women in government and industry that included the likes of media giant Oprah Winfrey, German Chancellor-designate Angela Merkel, and Margaret Whitman, president and CEO of eBay.

The University of Kansas School of Engineering is now taking registration for the SWE Weekend of Engineering on Feb. 3-5, 2006.

The weekend camp at KU is designed to give high school girls in 10th through 12th grade an opportunity to experience college life and learn about engineering careers and specific opportunities in the School of Engineering. The emphasis is on exploration, and members of the KU chapter of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) will be on hand to interact with the high school students. Read more.
