A note from Chancellor Robert E. Hemenway
As an international community, the University of Kansas shares in the grief being experienced by students, alumni, faculty and staff affected in any way by this week’s tsunami in the Indian Ocean.
Every KU family member from the many countries involved has our deepest sympathies in this time of mourning.
We are not aware of anyone from KU having been killed or injured as a result of the tsunami. However, if you are currently in one of the affected countries, and are able to do so, please send an e-mail to the Office of International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) at isss@ku.edu, simply alerting us to your status. (Please do the same if you have some knowledge about a person with KU ties who is currently in that region.)
International students, faculty and staff affected by this tragedy are also encouraged to contact ISSS so that we can assist in meeting individual needs. We want to support you in any way possible, whether the effects of this terrible event are direct or indirect.
Sincerely,
Robert E. Hemenway
Chancellor
