Last year the school's "MBA Essentials" course
became an integral part of the professional development
that the American Business Women's Association (ABWA)
offers its members. More than 50,000 ABWA members now
can attend the courses at national and district meetings
during the year.
The programs have met with much success. Already nearly
650 participants have taken advantage of the professional
development courses taught by School of Business faculty.
Recently ABWA's marketing of the MBA Essentials became
an award winner. ABWA, with national headquarters in
Kansas City, won a prestigious 2003 PRISM award from
the Greater Kansas City Chapter of the Public Relations
Society of America. The PRISM award, presented to ABWA
for its public relations/marketing efforts of MBA Essentials,
is the highest honor awarded in each of the categories.
