Talented young pianists to perform at KU

The University of Kansas welcomed some of the best young pianists in the world as the department of music and dance hosted the first Kansas International Piano Competition July 5 -7 at the Lied Center of Kansas. The competition was held in conjunction with the International Institute for Young Musicians (IIYM), an annual summer festival for talented piano students; it included a variety of free performances featuring a select group of 15 pianists ages 12 to 17. KU Midwestern Music Camp in full swing

The annual KU Midwestern Music Camp is back, bringing 900 junior and high school students from 30 states for intense training with noted conductors. Summer concerts are free and open to the public. Read more
