"It was a great way to cap off spring practice," head coach Mark Mangino said. "I felt good about some of the things we did. The defense is making progress. Both the Blue and White did some good things. It was very encouraging and gives us something to work on for the fall."

Fans at the scrimmage donated a total of $2,600, which will be used toward the cost of new uniforms for the KU Band.

Kansas opens the 2004 season Sept. 4 at home vs. the Tulsa Golden Hurricane. The Jayhawks' home schedule also includes Toledo (Sept. 11), Texas Tech (Sept. 25), Kansas State (Oct. 9), Colorado (Nov. 6) and Texas (Nov. 13).

The KU athletics ticket office has unveiled a new online ticketing system to give fans a more convenient way to purchase tickets to Jayhawk sporting events. The new service is available 24 hours a day by clicking on any of the ticket links located at www.kuathletics.com.

Customers who go online to renew their football season tickets will be eligible to win two free season tickets, one free season parking pass or one of 10 footballs autographed by KU head coach Mark Mangino.

Season tickets for the 2004 football season are now available for purchase online, even for fans who are not current season ticket holders. Season tickets remain the best value and great seats still remain for the upcoming season.

Single-game tickets for home KU football games will be available online in July, while online ticketing for other sports will available later this summer.
