Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist will present the Chandler Lecture for the School of Business

David Broder, national political correspondent for The Washington Post, syndicated columnist, and Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, will present the KU Business School's Anderson Chandler Lecture on March 17. Broder, whose column is carried in over 300 newspapers around the globe, will discuss "The Political and Economic Challenges in 2004" at 7:30 p.m. at the Lied Center, Lawrence. The lecture is free and open to the public.

Broder, a national political correspondent reporting the political scene for The Washington Post, writes a twice-weekly column that covers a broad aspect of American political life. The column is syndicated by The Washington Post Writers Group. Broder was awarded the Pulitzer Prize in 1973 for distinguished commentary. Venture Capital and Private Equity Conference

The spring 2004 University of Kansas Finance Conference brings together leading practitioners in venture capital and private equity. On Friday, March 5, Michael Bigham, Abingworth Management, will deliver the keynote address, and distinguished panelists will discuss the recent performance of venture capital and private equity investments, as well as current prospects,investment strategies and relations with portfolio companies. A related research conference will follow on Saturday, March 6, when the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation will provide a forum for leading researchers to discuss exciting new work on the financial, organizational and contractual issues raised by venture capital and private equity.
