KU dance program wins prestigious grant
The
dance program in the School of Fine Arts has been awarded
a grant to support the restaging of "Missa Brevis,"
originally choreographed by José Limón
and being restaged at KU by Sarah Stackhouse. The University
Dance Company will present the work during its fall
concert Nov. 21-22 at the Lied Center.
A national panel of artists, college faculty and dance
presenters recommended 35 awards to universities in
35 cities and 28 states across the country to aid new
works and reconstructions in modern, ballet, tap, swing,
jazz and Latin dance. The initiative unites professional
dance artists with college students and brings works
to the community. Read
