The dedication of the Dole Institute of Politics was the highlight
of summer at KU. To share in the historic occasion, read our photo-packed coverage, then read on to start planning for great fall events.

For students, faculty and staff, the new year begins with Hawk Week. For alumni, the 2003 Kansas football season kicks off August 30 against Northwestern, launching a fall schedule that features special campus activities on game day weekends throughout the season. Our Ultimate Guide to Jayhawk Football and Game Days on the Hill provides all the information you need, including events related to the arts, museums, Open House and Family Weekend, the Jayhawk mascot reunion, the Homecoming Parade, and our community's tribute to our favorite bird, Jayhawks on Parade.

Football tickets will help you catch all the action on the field, and the Official KU Online Directory will help you connect with friends for the festivities.

In this issue, we also kick off our "Kansas Football Legends" contest series, offering a keepsake football signed by five coaches who led Jayhawk teams to bowl games: Mitchell, Rodgers, Fambrough, Moore and Mason. We'll follow up each month during the season with autographed collectibles from other KU greats, compliments of KU Athletics and the KU Bookstores.

If you can't return to Lawrence this fall, look to the Ultimate Alumni Guide to Jayhawk Football and Game Day Weekends for details about related events in your area. If you are not a member, consider joining now to receive great benefits and stay involved in the life of your alma mater. If you are a member, we thank you for your continuing loyalty
