Celebration," the Dole Institute of Politics' dedication

Chancellor promotes increased access to college for
low-income students
Chancellor Robert Hemenway testified last week on behalf
of the prestigious Association of American Universities
(AAU) at a U.S. Department of Education hearing in Kansas
City, Mo., on reauthorization of the Higher Education
Act.

Celebrate Women's History Month with This Week In
KU History
March is Women's History Month. Learn more about some
of the Hill's extraordinary women, including the first
KU valedictorian, Clara Richardson; basketball legend
Lynette Woodard; longtime librarian Carrie Watson; and
KU benefactor Elizabeth Watkins, who was known as "Lady
Bountiful." Our compilation of women's history
stories also includes original articles about the February
Sisters and the Women's Athletic Association, as well
as Sallie Casey Thayer and her art collection, which
now forms part of KU's core holdings.
