The question posed in last month's KU Connection —- "What do you miss most about KU and Lawrence?" —- provided inspiration to alumni far and wide. Read Lawrence Journal World writer Terry Rombeck's assessment of their comments in our KU Places article. For sharing their memories, six alumni each won a copy of "Game Night" a limited-edition print by Jim Hamil, f'58. Congratulations to: Kathy Newlin Pyke, d'72; Kate Unger, c'02; Patty Grimm, '01; Dan Patz, c'63; Mary Jasnoski Gregorson, c'77, g'81, PhD'84; Chris Ann Lessley, PhD'97, and Girish Ballolla, c'95, g'97.

This February issue, which marks our second year of publication, includes our usual array of KU People, Places, News and fun. "Click to Win" an autographed Roy Williams limited edition Bobblehead, a must for any serious collector of KU Basketball memorabilia, and read about the latest chapter in the continuing saga of the famous campus steam whistle. Follow the career of Linda Zarda Cook, e'80, who was highlighted in our first issue and recently was named CEO of Shell Canada. And start preparing for the 2003 Jayhawk football season as you read about Coach Mangino's first recruiting class.

The Kansas Alumni Association and its KU Connection partners, University Relations, the KU Endowment Association, KU Athletics, the KU Bookstore, and the Memorial Unions' "This Week in KU History," plan to bring you even more in the months ahead. Watch for a fresh design, new features and expanded coverage.

As always, we hope you enjoy KU Connection, and we thank you for your participation in our first year.

Warmest wishes from the Hill —
The Kansas Alumni Association
