Send to a friend

On Sunday, May 19, nearly 4,000 seniors will walk down the Hill and into Memorial Stadium for the University's 130th Commencement. The ceremony marks a triumphant entrance into the real world and the conclusion of momentous college years, when students' lives are changed by knowledge gained in the classroom and friendships made along the way.

The Kansas Alumni Association proudly congratulates the Class of 2002, and invites all graduates to start their alumni careers by joining the Association. Since, 1883, the Association has worked to strengthen loyalty, commitment and communication among all graduates. KU Connection is simply the newest of many programs that through the years have adapted to the needs of graduates and the University.

As you recall your walk down the Hill, you'll be reminded of the important role your KU experience has played in your life. Join more than 45,000 Association members in remaining part of the University community.

Please remember that regardless of your membership status, you will continue to receive KU Connection. We hope you enjoy it, and, as always, we hope to hear from you.

With warmest wishes and congratulations to the Class of 2002,
The Kansas Alumni Association

  KU in the Capitol

The Legislature passed a budget bill for 2002-03 but remains divided on how to pay for it. Under the bill, KU would take about a $7.1 million cut. However, if legislators don't adopt revenue increases to fund the budget, Gov. Graves will be forced to cut $300 million more. This would have an additional impact on KU of $11 million at Lawrence and $8.3 million at the Medical Center. For the latest information, go to http://www.govrelations.ku.edu
