Week In KU History
March 19, 1889: Lewis Lindsay Dyche, a KU-trained naturalist and explorer,
accepts a University chair in anatomy, physiology, and
taxidermy. Dyche will go on to design the Panorama of
North American Mammals, unveiled at 1893 World's Columbian
Exposition in Chicago and now on permanent display at
the KU Natural History Museum in Dyche Hall.
